NetQuote, a free consumer service, can get you up to five competitive insurance quotes from licensed companies in your area in minutes. Our “TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award” winner has collaborated with thousands of insurance agents throughout the United States and Canada to offer a wide variety of insurance policies including auto, health, business, life and homeowners/renters.

NetQuote has been providing consumers with a free and simple way to shop for affordable prices since 1989. Since they have been in the business for so long, they have hammered their quote request process into a quick, efficient form. They have an extensive protection policy and do not sell personal information.

NetQuote offered serious competition to our “Gold Award” winner, falling behind simply because they do not offer as many types of coverage as Insurance Finder and their customer support did not respond to our email inquiry.

Ease of Use of Service:  

Appling for a quote with NetQuote is easy: simply enter your zip code and select the insurance type you are looking for and then a quote wizard opens up. The wizard will ask you a series of questions and then submit your information to agents closest to your zip code. The agents will then contact you by email, fax or telephone regarding your request. The process is speedy; for example, we submitted a quote request and within ten minutes received an emailed list of the providers that would contact us.

NetQuote secures your private information using a VeriSign SSL certificate. On their website they publish a comprehensive protection policy that states exactly what they will and will not do with your personal information and internet habits.

Quotes Supplied:  

NetQuote states that they hope to be able to supply each consumer with at least five competitive quotes. Since the requests are sent out based on your geographical location, you may receive less than five if providers in your area are limited. NetQuote supplies the quotes free of charge with no obligations.

Insurance agents may contact you via email, telephone or fax depending on what information you supplied regarding your preferred method of contact.

Help/Support Options:  

NetQuote offers an email address and phone number for any direct inquiries. We took off a point in this area because we never received a response back to our email inquiry. Most people will not need help because the request process is straight forward, but if you do, you might have to wait a long time. We hope that NetQuote recognizes their deficiencies in this area and will make improvements in the immediate future.

Summary:  

NetQuote has spent over 16 years building relationships with insurance companies and agents to try to bring the consumer the best rates possible. They have streamlined the referral process, making it simple for new agents to affiliate with them; this has broadened their coverage area and increased the potential number of quotes they can offer.

We were impressed with how quickly quotes came in, but they do not offer as many insurance options as Insurance Finder and their customer support needs a few improvements. However, do not let these minor issues stop you from requesting a quote through NetQuote. Requests only take a few minutes to submit, are free and the more quotes you can get back the more choices you have to fulfill your insurance needs.
